Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, better known by her stage name of Ari Lennox, is an American artist and performer who hails from Washington, D.C., who was the first female to be signed to J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. On the 21st of October, 2016 she debuted Pho, her debut EP for the label Dreamville Records. That was the day she gained her first notoriety. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio album came out on May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox first released music online in 2012. Her debut album Ariography and debut mixtape in 2013 Five Finger Discount. The year 2014 saw her release more music via the Internet including Bound. In July of 2015, Omen featured her on his album Elephant Eyes in the song Sweat it Out. J. Cole asked her to collaborate with him for Rihanna's remark. Later in the year, her music circulated around Dreamville. On the 8th of December, it was revealed that she had contracted to Dreamville Records. Backseat is a track that she recorded with Cozz for the Revenge of the Dreamers II collaboration album. On the 21st of October in 2016, her EP Pho was released. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change as well as performing on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as the opening act. In 2018, she appeared as a guest performer on two songs, with the EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song as well as Bas's Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single, Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on 16 July 2018, which was released on July 16th, 2018. The music video later released in September. On the 9th November, she released another two singles called 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). She then released on the 13th of November, two brand new singles titled One and Pedigree. One and Pedigree. Then she appeared as a guest on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track titled Shea Butter Baby on November 16th. She released the single on the 26th of February, 2019, for her debut album the same name. The music video premiered on 20 February 2019 in conjunction with the song. Within the first week, it had over 3 million views. In December of 2018 the singer was a part of the From East Atlanta With Love Tour that featured 6LACK.
